Jonathan Lethem is a household-name famous for two wonderful novels, Motherless Brooklyn and Fortress of Solitude, both of which are set in Lethem's native Brooklyn—actually, "set" is probably putting it too lightly, as the borough is almost a character itself in these books. For his follow-up to Fortress, Lethem, perhaps wisely, forgets Brooklyn altogether, setting his story in L.A. hipster 'hood Silver Lake—the West Coast equivalent to BK's Williamsburg. You Don't Love Me Yet is half as long as its predecessor, and that relative lightness extends beyond physical heft, as the book moves breezily, without consequence, following the travails of an unnamed indie-rock band from the perspective of their bored, carefree bassist, Lucinda. YDLMY is heavy on sex and humor, but even in this lesser work, Lethem is nothing short of masterful: His lines are unerringly precise, thoughtful and playful.

In another development, a five-member committee has begun scrutinising the allegations that have poured in over the last few weeks. As of yesterday, some 4,500 complaints have been submitted to the commission, said sources. A senior ACC official yesterday told journalists that an organogram for the reconstituted ACC would be finalised by the first week of April.
